Board of Directors
Luke Mostert
Founder & Chairman
Luke’s passion for equal educational opportunities began in high school, when he met a group of underprivileged children yearning for a more comprehensive education. After initially just mentoring the young students, Luke recognized he needed to do more and decided to raise the sponsorships needed to place the students in better schools. Realising he could only do so much whilst attending university overseas, he enlisted the help of fellow philanthropic students and friends in order to establish the Litoro Foundation and expand his vision of empowering African youth – one student at a time. Luke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and currently splits his time between venture capital at Cape Town based firm, 4Di Capital, and his role at Litoro, where he oversees the board of directors and leadership team. His ultimate goal for the foundation is its expansion across Africa in order to break down the socio-economic barriers preventing young scholars from chasing their dreams.
[/su_expand]Natasha Mostert
Non-Executive Director
Natasha obtained her degree in Accounting with Honours from Stellenbosch University in 2016. She has always taken a keen interest in her education and excelled academically as evidenced by her acceptance into the Golden Key Honour Society. She went on to complete her South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) articles at Deloitte Cape Town and is currently eligible to register as a CA (SA). Natasha recently relocated abroad and is working at BDO London in the asset management and banking division as a part of the financial services audit team. Just like her brother Luke, Natasha has always had a passion for helping children and believes that education has the ability to play a pivotal role in solving inequity and poverty across Africa.
Lydia Zingoni
Non-Executive Director
Lydia has over 8 years of experience in executive non-profit leadership, having founded and led the SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation into one of South Africa’s largest non-profit organizations. Her drive for helping ignite the potential of South Africa youth has seen her foundation launch entrepreneurship societies in high schools across the country – dovetailing perfectly with Litoro’s ambitions to empower African youth to live out their career dreams. Prior to establishing Teen Entrepreneur, Lydia served as the Libraries Director at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, while she also holds several degrees in economic history, information management, and marketing.
Kaila Fourie
Board Advisor
Kaila is an Actuarial Science graduate of the University of Cape Town. As a child, she was dubbed the “queen of questions” by her family, and her daily activities and aspirations as a young adult are still mostly fueled by this insatiable passion for learning and forming meaningful human connections. This zest for education has seen her attain various accolades, such as the 2019 GradStar Top 10 Award – a coveted prize presented to the top 10 graduating university students within South Africa. Kaila’s drive to join Litoro stemmed from her engagement in youth mentoring and teaching programs, where she learned about the educational challenges she tackles at Litoro from the ground up. After serving, as Litoro’s Executive Director for 3 years, Kaila moved into the role of Board Advisor.
